Quality Painting by Quality Painters in Brisbane's Northern Suburbs
Helpful hints when choosing a quality painting contractor

Tim O'Farrell believes prospective clients should ask these questions before deciding on a painting contractor for their domestic or commercial painting requirements?
Is the painting contractor licensed with the QBCC?
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission is the statutory regulating authority for the building industry in Queensland and requires that all trade contractors be licensed. Licence numbers should be displayed on all correspondence and advertising. You can check licence numbers here.
How well has the painting contractor presented their quotation?
The quality of quote can often reflect the quality of work. Furthermore, there are specific regulatory requirements set out by the QBCC for quotations in excess of $3,300 (GST included).
Why do quoted prices vary so much?
Sometimes prices vary substantially between painting contractors so it's important to check that the painter meets industry requirements and uses the best quality materials. The old adage, 'you get what you pay for', holds true in the painting industry, so be wary that cheap painting quotes can often mean cheap and inferior workmanship.

How detailed is your quote?
A quote is more than a price pulled out of thin air. A detailed specification is an essential part of the quotation and ultimately will form part of the legal agreement between yourself and your painting contractor. This should detail price, areas to be painted, coating systems, preparations, materials, paints to be used, and so on.
The more detailed the specification the more likely it will be that your expectations will be met.
